This egg free, dairy free French toast will have a thumbs up from everyone. You can use any safe bread, but the thicker the slices, the better. You can also use maple syrup if you do not want to make your own syrup, but the caramel syrup is a delicious addition.
Preheat a griddle to 350 degrees or heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.
In a small bowl mix milk, cornstarch, vanilla, and cinnamon (or mix ingredients in the measuring cup used to measure the milk) using a whisk or fork until well blended. Pour into a shallow baking dish or bowl.
Place a slice of bread into the milk mixture. Completely coat the bread on both sides.
Place bread on the heated griddle and cook 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Flip the bread to brown the other side.
Serve immediately. Top with caramel syrup (see instructions below), or maple syrup, sliced strawberries and dairy free whipped cream.
Add all ingredients into a saucepan and heat over medium heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture is smooth.
Serve warm over French toast.
