Riley is our dairy, egg and nut allergic son.  We have been coping with food allergies since 2007.  It’s hard to believe it has been nearly 10 yIMG_2219ears!  It was terribly difficult at first but it has gotten easier over time.  In the last 10 years we have learned so much about food allergies and have helped many people along the way.  I want to share what we’ve learned with others because I know how hard it is to have your world turned upside-down with the discovery of a food allergy, and how difficult it can be to participate and feel included in social events which nearly always involve food.

I hope this blog will be of help to you or someone you love.  Please share your comments, thoughts and ideas.  We all benefit from each other and our collective experience and knowledge.  Welcome to Dairy Egg and Nut Free!

  1. My daughter has an egg allergy and I was searching for a perfect recipe for Xmas morning compared to our usual tater tot casserole which is obviously filled with eggs.

Have you ever tried Rhodes Frozen Cinnamon Rolls?
Here’s a link: https://www.rhodesbread.com/products/view/cinnamon-rolls You can see the ingredients there to see if it could work for your daughter. We do cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. You can also make egg-free pancakes, waffles, or muffins. As far as savory meals, we often substitute a tofu scramble for eggs in things like breakfast burritos and skillets. My kids love it. My husband can’t wrap his head around the idea of “tofu” so he’d rather not eat it. Check out eatallergyfree.com for some of our family recipes.
